Where Happiness Is Found

Happiness is found where acceptance begins. Just because we’ve experienced some losses doesn’t mean we’ll get no wins. (<— originally written July 13th, 2011).

We must be able to accept the fact that in life there are times when we will lose. Thus, it’s up to us to choose whether or not we will allow that loss or those losses to define us or refine us. Once you lose, you must choose to move forward. Choose to pick up from where you left off. You are not a loser but simply someone who has experienced a loss. Your losses in life do not define who you are. At the end of the day, everyone must face the chapter in life titled “Losses.” If you begin to feel that these moments are defining who you are, please remember as the 70s trio singing group, The Main Ingredient, would say, “Everybody plays the fool sometimes.”

Although we all play the fool sometimes, it does not mean we are foolish. Rather, everyone is susceptible to being fooled. The trio continues the song by saying “There’s no exception to the rule.” It is okay to be the fool sometimes because after all it is human nature. However, don’t allow your losses to be the only thing you dwell upon. Learn from that and keep it pushing!
